Last day of school; First day of summer

I am so excited that this is the last blog for honors english. I am also glad that today was my last day of school. I did not do much in my classes today. I mainly watch videos and I had one test to take. This is also my last bit of homework for the year. I am so excited for summer. I have a lot of things I have to do and things I want to do for summer. I am just glad I can relax and not have to worry about school. I am really looking forward to sleeping in and staying up late.

Some of my plans for the summer is beating some of my video games, watching TV, reading, and doing other fun stuff. During school I do not have as much time for things I want to do like video games and TV. So in the summer is when I like to do a lot of that stuff. I have a lot of books to read. I have to read the scarlet pimpernel for layton high along with anther book of my choice from the list of authors. Then I want to re read some books and read some newer ones.

I have a lot of fun things planed this summer. I have some camp outs and stuff like that. My first thing is this trip to Washington DC that I leave for tomorrow mourning. Then when I come back I have a family camp out in a couple of weeks. That is fun because I go up camping with some grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We do things like fishing, hiking and this year since we are close to pineview we might go boating. I really like it and I am looking forward to it.

After that I have a scout camp out in July. It is going to be fun. Right now we plan on going down to Zion national park and do a hike through the narrows. Then we are going to stay in a hotel in Saint George. Then we would do a little golfing before going home. My leaders think it may be a little too expensive, in which case we would just go up to bear lake and do some boating and fishing. I hope we still go to Zion national park because I think I would have more fun there.

I plan to have a great summer and I can not wait to do all of my stuff. I think I am most excited for the camping trips. Next to that I think I would like sleeping in the most. I am also glad that I will not get stressed out because of homework or school. I plan to have a lot of fun doing all of my plans. This summer will be a blast and I can not wait to get started. I guess I will have to wait like every school kids in the country to start my summer.

science olympiad

Yesterday I spent over six hours preparing for a trial event for science olympiad. The event is called tip the scale. Personally I think a trial event is not worth an entire Saturday if it does not help our team. I also was not happy that I had to cram it in to one Saturday. I just can not wait to go and get science olympiad over with. I really to don’t care about the trial events I am just going and getting it over with so I can enjoy myself a little. I am glad that I am almost done with all of my homework.

Yesterday I had to build a scale. It is basically it is a wooden structure with an aluminum meter stick, which is the arm, that holds the two trays. It took about five hours to build. It would of have been faster but. we had to keep tweaking the design so the scale would actually work. We had to make our own weights because we can not use weights that were made and equal to a certain weight. We basically had to tape things together to make them equal a certain weight.

It is one thing to build the scale you have to be able to make accurate observation. In the event we will have two minutes to weigh the unknown object. It is not easy to measure with this kind of scale. It takes great practice to use this scale. So tomorrow I have to go and practice using the scale so I am ready for the competition. I hope that tomorrow I will not be there that long. I am also in charge of getting the scale to Washington DC. Hopefully I can just fit it into my suit case.

I am so excited for the trip though. I can not wait for the site seeing. The thing I am waiting to see the most is the Washington monument. In side the pillar there are actually things written on the blocks, like this block was donated by this person. There is also an observation room in the top of the pillar. I also can not wait for the aerospace museum. There are things like actual rockets that they use for space travel that have not been used. There are also the command modules from the Apollo program. Really cool place to go.

I can not wait for the school year to be over. I can not wait to start my summer plans. I have a lot of camping planed. I also have books lined up to read. Some of them are books I am required to read and some that I want to read. I also want to do some fishing and some photography. I hope to do a lot more than I did last summer. Last summer my day consisted of waking up about nine in the morning, watch TV, play video games, do stuff on the computer, eat, and then go to bed.

Summer is almost here

On Friday night I went to Laser Floyd at the Clark planetarium. We had a hard time finding a parking space because of the jazz game. The show did not start until 11:00 at night. The show lasted about an hour so it was getting over at midnight and we still had to drive home. By the time we got home it was almost one. We were stuck in traffic because the jazz game was over at the same time and the road was under construction so there was a big traffic jam. I was just glad to get to bed.

The show was really good it was a show where they would play Pink Floyd songs and show picture on the dome theater and then the had laser that would shine across the room. For the lasers to work there has to be something in the air for light to reflect off of. For that they use a fog machine to make it so the lasers can work. It is not a thick fog but the fog is at the right amount because you can still see clearly but the lasers still work. They play music from the album called dark side of the moon.

That was a fun thing. It is just one more thing that is getting me so excited for summer. But what does that better than year end activities. This week we have falcon finale which is like and awards night for 9th graders. I got to go last year since the orchestra plays during it. It was real fun and I can not wait for it. The teachers announces who wins it, but they talk about the person a little before they announce it so it is fun to try and guess who it is. The activities next week are the best.

This year is exciting because 9th graders get to go to Lagoon. I do not like roller coasters much. That is okay though because I am missing the last two days to go to Washington DC. I am a little upset that I will miss the last day of school when everyone signs year books and then there is the year end assembly. But it is a trip to Washington DC it will be more fun than the last day of school. I am excited to see all of the sites and all of the monuments.

I am so glad that I have very little home work left. I just have some things to finish up for Honors English and a little bit of science. For the most part I am done with math. Which is good because usually takes the longest to do. I am sick of homework which is why I am going to try to finish as fast as possible so I do not have to worry about it no more. I still have one more book I have to read over this week but it should be a quick read. I am glad that summer is almost here.

Things on my mind

I am excited! There is more than one reason. Reason one, I only have 12 days that I will be in school. Reason two, the Jazz beat the Lakers in overtime.

I will only go to school 12 more days and then I am leaving for Washington DC. I am glad that for the rest of the year in math it is just reviews and test which means hardly any homework for me. I was excited to get my picture on Friday. I look like I have my eyes closed, along with half of the other people.

I am so excited that the Jazz have won the last couple games. If they can win the next game in L.A. they can easily win game six which will be played here. The game today was incredible. I missed the first half, but the second half was just filled with action. When the Jazz were ahead by 12 points I was so excited. I was starting to get mad when the lakers were starting to score. I was mad when they tied it up at the last minute and sent the game into overtime. I just can not wait to watch the next game.

I can not wait for summer. There are so many things I want to do over the summer. I have a lot of books on my list to read. I want to read The Chronicles of Narnia, re-read all seven Harry Potters, re-read Eragon and Eldest, finish reading the Artemis Fowl series. Then I want to get outside more this summer. The only thing last summer that really got me outside was summer PE. I think I will just go to the park and play outside. I will probably be spending most of my time inside though.

We are remodeling our kitchen and I can not wait for it to be done because it will look so cool. We have already ripped out the wall. Tomorrow the electrician will come and instal of the electrical work. Then we will sheet rock and then we will paint. Then we will rip out floor and put in the hard wood floor. Then we will be ready to put in the cabinets and counter tops. It will look good once it is done. But right now we do not have a kitchen so it is hard to cook so we eat out and eat at other peoples houses.

There are a lot of things I have to do. I have to finish my math which will probably take a while. Which is why I can not wait for school to be out. When I am in Washington DC I can not wait to see the national monuments and all of the museums and government buildings. I hope the Jazz will go all the way to the NBA finals. I am just so tired of school and I want summer to be here so I can relax and do what I want to do.

My weekend

Yesterday was a big day. We started to rip out our kitchen because we are going to be doing a big remodel project. So we cleaned out all of the cabinets and took more stuff to our storage shed. I am really excited for it. When it is done it will look good and I can not wait. While we are doing it we won’t have a kitchen but it will be worth it. I also bought Mariokart for the Wii yesterday. Then last night we went to the Clark planetarium. We saw a show called rock on demand.

When I bought Mariokart I came home and started playing it, which every one does when they get a new game. It was a little hard at first, but once I got the hang of it I was really good. It is a fun game and I have already unlock a new character and some new tracks. It is a fun game to play with family and friends. I was playing it with my cousins today and it was a blast. They were having a little trouble getting use to it, but they had fun. I can not wait to unlock more stuff.

Last night I went to the Clark planetarium. We were going to see a show called rock on demand. We bought the tickets, but we still had an hour to kill. We went to the food court and ate. Then my dad wanted to go buy a Shaun Alexander jersey, since they were 50% off, at fans. We then went back to the planetarium and looked at some stuff, and I was not there for my term project for Mrs. Cobia’s class. I looked at some things about eclipses. I found out that the moon turns orange and red because of the little light of the sun that reflects through the atmosphere and then hits the moon.

We then went to the dome theater for the show. What you do is that we would vote on songs that we would want them to play. They would then play the song while we watched a little show which went along with the song. I did not know a lot of songs but I knew Back in the USSR, Back in Black, and Another brick in the wall by Pink Floyd. They had these cool lasers that would go along with the song. They also had strobe lights which really hurt my eyes.

I am glad that we only have four weeks left of school. I am glad that I will not have any homework and I can relax. This last week flew by fast and the next weeks will go by even faster. I just hope that I won’t have a lot of homework. I will be glad when the CRT’s are over. I can not wait for the end of school because I will then be on vacation in Washington DC. I am so excited for that trip that the last week will seem to drag.
